Our Process

The same three steps run every job, roofing or remodeling: we inspect, we scope, we build. This page pulls those steps into one place instead of leaving them scattered across individual service pages — it’s a standalone look at how a job actually moves from first call to finished work.

Roofing: inspect, scope, build

Inspect. We get on the roof and document the condition — photos as we go, the flashing, the penetrations, and what the water is actually doing. We don’t scope a job from the driveway, and we don’t quote a roof we haven’t been on.

Scope. From what we actually find, we write it down — what the roof needs, plainly, which sometimes is “nothing yet.” If you’re filing an insurance claim, that same documentation is what your claim gets built on.

Build. The crew does the work described in the written scope. If conditions change once work starts — soft decking found under old shingles, for example — that becomes a documented change, not a surprise on the invoice.

Remodeling: inspect, scope, build

Inspect. Before we write anything, we walk the space — what’s there now, what’s structural, what’s behind the walls where relevant.

Scope. We put the plan in writing: what’s being built, in what order, to what standard. A clear scope of work is what a fair price and a fair inspection are both built on.

Build. Work proceeds against that written scope. Any change after work starts goes through a documented change order, so both sides are working from the same updated, agreed record — not a verbal understanding.

Why one page for this

The inspect-scope-build order is already how every service page on this site describes its own work. This page doesn’t introduce a new process — it just puts the same three steps in one place, so you can see the whole shape of a job before you’re in the middle of one. For the vocabulary used along the way, see our glossary.

What to expect on day one

The steps above get a job from a first call to a signed, written scope. Day one is where that scope becomes the actual job.

The crew arrives with the written scope. Before any tool comes out, the crew walks the job against the scope you were given — confirming access, marking off what’s being protected, and lining up the day’s work with what the document actually says. Nothing happens on day one that wasn’t already described in that scope.

The site gets protected. Landscaping, walkways, and anything nearby that isn’t part of the job get covered or protected before work starts, for the duration of the work.

Work proceeds against the written scope. From there, the crew does the work the scope describes, in the order it describes it — the same Build step described above for both roofing and remodeling work. If something turns up mid-job that the scope didn’t anticipate — soft decking under old shingles, or a wall that turns out to be load-bearing — that becomes a documented change, the same way it’s described above, not a surprise at the end.

For what these terms mean along the way, see the glossary.
